Shenzhen FC Face Must-Win Challenges Match

The arrival of striker Dibba has significantly bolstered Shenzhen FC’s attacking force, giving head coach Carlos more flexibility in crafting a dangerous front line. According to Crickex App, during the World Cup break, Chinese Football Association Vice President Li Yuyi visited Shenzhen to assess the club’s infrastructure and player eligibility. His evaluation of the club’s development was overwhelmingly positive. Currently, Shenzhen sits third in the league standings—just one point behind second place and two points behind the league leaders.

However, the margins are razor-thin. Teams chasing Shenzhen trail by only one or two points, meaning every remaining match could be a turning point. Coach Carlos remains calm but cautious. He has urged his players to focus fully on their own strengths on the pitch and avoid distractions from outside influences. In the upcoming home match against Shanghai Shenxin, Dibba is expected to debut, pending final paperwork. Shenzhen is hungry for victory, especially in front of their home crowd.

Prior to Dibba’s arrival, Carlos had been relying on the “Ao-Pu duo” to lead the attack. Now with Dibba in the mix, no matter which offensive combination he selects, the team is expected to have explosive potential. During the World Cup pause, Carlos granted players a two-week break but assigned individual fitness plans to ensure no one lost momentum. After regrouping in mid-June, the squad resumed training and held a series of warm-up matches, including one in Tianjin against TEDA. That match began with a bang—Shenzhen scored from a set piece just two minutes in.

By the 25th minute, they had doubled their lead. However, they eventually allowed TEDA to claw back for a 3-3 draw. Soon after, Shenzhen FC officially announced the signing of Gambian international Dibba. The 1.78-meter, 67-kilogram forward had a stellar season in the Swedish Allsvenskan, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in just 10 appearances for Hammarby IF—placing him second in the league’s scoring charts and helping his team reach the top of the table.

Born on October 15, 1987, Dibba first represented Gambia in 2015 and was part of their squad during the 2018 World Cup African qualifiers. Known for his blistering pace, explosive bursts, and clinical finishing, he also offers strong creative vision in the final third. Although the club has not officially confirmed which player Dibba replaces, Crickex App reports that based on recent matches, he is expected to take over the spot of fellow foreign player Abu.

With the league entering a critical phase, Shenzhen FC can afford no slip-ups. They’ve made their intentions clear: this season is about climbing higher, and with new firepower up front, they’re fully equipped for the battle ahead. As the saying goes, “fortune favors the bold”—and Shenzhen is ready to seize every opportunity.
