Part 1

It was a mid-spring evening when a blue accord pulled up to a large non-decorative building, surrounded by barbed wire, near a forest in northern California. The driver, a brunet woman age 45, paused to give her ID to the guard at the gate before continuing on to the parking lot in front of the building. There were only a few cars left in the lot because most of them took off for the night. The driver got out and walked up to the front door of the building. The night guard greeted her as she entered.

"Good evening Dr. Kathryn", smiled Robert. "Going to work late I see", he questioned her as he checked her ID.

"Good evening Bob, and yes I decided to work on my project some more tonight", answered Kathryn.

"Good luck; I'll see you later than Dr." said Robert.

Kathryn headed down the hall to the elevator and slid her ID card in the slot. The light turned green and the elevator door opened. She pushed level 2 and the doors closed. At the second floor, the doors to the elevator opened and out walked Kathryn. She head down the hall to a room with a door with the name Dr. Kathryn Holts printed on the front. Right below her name was printed 'Temporal lab – TOP SECRET'. She punched in her pass code and entered her lab.

"Hopefully I can make some more progress on the anomaly", thought Kathryn as she put on her lab coat.

"I could win the Nobel prize, if they would just let me publish my work, but being that it is a black project, I am screwed." said Kathryn to herself as she left her lab office and enter the main lab. She wished she could tell the world that she was on the verge of a breakthrough that could change everything. Kathryn has always been fascinated by the idea of time travel and the concepts of time itself since when she was a little girl and read 'The Time Machine'. Now she was close be making a working time travel portal using an unstable time vortex anomaly her machines created. All she needed to do was learn how to control the anomaly and use its energy for the time travel portal.

The lab had computers and other electronic devices spread out everywhere from the walls to the tables. What stood out the most was the large spherical glass looking container with a blue and white flashing light coming from the center. Three metal arms held onto the globe with wires and cables attached to them. Behind the globe was a large square box with lights and monitor screens where the three metal arms came from. Cables and wires came from the large electronic box and ran to a main computer control area where Kathryn was headed. She started to look over the readings that were being displayed on the computer screen. "I am still getting random fluctuations from the temporal anomaly", Kathryn said to herself.

As she was looking over the readings, the alarms for the building started to go off and a red warning light started to flash above the main door to the lab.

"What's going on", thought Kathryn as see went to check the security monitors.

What she saw in the monitor scared her. Armed men dressed in black were rushing into the building firing at anyone that they saw. A few seconds later she heard gun fire outside of her lab and people screaming.

"I need to hide", thought Kathryn as she looked around for a place to hide. She did not really want to jump out the second story window.

Just as she was going to hide behind one of the computer work stations an explosion ripped through the lab door throwing her at the large containment globe. Pieces of metal and glass tore at her skin leaving deep cuts in her arms and face. She was barely conscious when she heard them enter the lab.

"Grab all the notes you can and leave no witnesses," shouted the husky sounding man by the door. He then spotted Kathryn laying on the lab floor bleeding.

"She does not look like she is moving but burn this lab with her in it just to make sure." said the husky man.

"We are going to be rich from all the secrets from these labs that we are going to sell to that mysterious buyer," said the man that was grabbing Kathryn's notes and data disks.

"He knew exactly where this building was and what was in it and what the security was", the husky man said. "Come on we do not have much time before the alarm alerts the cops".

"Got it", the other man said and turned to drop a metal sphere on the floor.

Kathryn's vision was fading in and out as she watched them leave. She got up slowly do to the pain in her arms and legs. Electrical shorts were everywhere and small fires were starting because of the sparks. A crack appeared on the containment sphere and was getting bigger. Another small explosion erupted where the metal sphere the armed man dropped. It threw Kathryn into the containment sphere and caught her lab coat on fire. When she got back up the whole lab was engulfed in flames. There was no way for her to get out but the window on the far wall. She could feel the fire burning her skin as she tried desperately to put out the fire on her coat.

The containment sphere broke and the blue flashing glowing ball left the sphere and hit Kathryn in the back, causing Kathryn to scream out in pain. She stumbled towards the window when the machine holding the sphere exploded throwing Kathryn out the window and onto the ground two stories below. Kathryn blacked out from the pain. Her right arm was broken and so were a few ribs. She had burns on her arms from the fire and multiple cuts on her arms and face.

While she was blacked out, the cuts on her arms and face started to fade and the burns disappeared. She woke up and felt pain in her right arm.

"I must have sprained it because it does not feel broken," thought Kathryn. She then turned to look at the burning building. She could here the armed men in the parking lot shouting to each other to leave.

"I need to get out of here and get some help", thought Kathryn as she removed the burned lab coat and started to run into the woods behind the burning building.

She thought she heard someone behind her and it made her panic even more as she ran. She was so focused on running away that she did not notice the pain in her arm go away or the pain in her sides disappear. Her breasts started to shrink unnoticed by the running scientist.

Soon a teenage brunet girl was running through the woods instead of a 45 year old woman. She tripped as her skirt and panties that she wore slid down her skinny legs. Her shoes fell off as she fell because they no longer fit the small feet that were in them. Kathryn did not care at the moment or give it a second thought as she crawled back up to keep moving. The only thought on her mind was getting to help and away from those armed men. She left her skirt and panties behind and was only now wearing a women's blouse that looked funny on the now 10 year looking girl. Kathryn thought it a little strange that the woods seemed to get bigger as she ran. About 2 miles from the burning building, Kathryn passed out from exhaustion. She continued to grow younger, shrinking into to now large blouse. Her hair shortened to her shoulders and baby fat started to appear on her face, arms and legs. Her belly began to stick out a little.

A childless couple camping in the woods found a small little girl face down and wearing only a bloody torn women's blouse. Scared for the small child they picked her up and took her to the nearest hospital.

Part 2

Kathryn slowly opened her eyes. As everything started to focus, she knew something was off. From the equipment around her, it must mean she was in a hospital, but there were cartoon characters on the walls. Slowly she turned her head to the right and caught the glimpse of a small brown hairdo girl staring back at her.

'Why am I in the children's ward of the hospital?' thought Kathryn. She almost screamed when she realized that the girl she was looking at was her in a mirror.

'This can't be, it's impossible', thought Kathryn, who was on the verge of hyperventilating. She tried to focus her thoughts on what happened to her at the lab to calm herself down. 'Stay calm, you're a scientist, think through this logically', Kathryn told herself in her head. Kathryn went through everything that happened at the lab, when she got to the point where the containment sphere shattered; she realized what the cause of her condition was.

'The temporal anomaly must have absorbed into my body and caused my regression. I would never had thought it could do that, but here I am as evidence that it did', thought Kathryn as she starred at her reflection in the mirror.

'I must be around 5 years old, if I remember by childhood pictures correctly,' said Kathryn thinking to herself. She looked at her puffy cheeks and missing tooth.

"I wook adowabwe", said Kathryn with a lisp. She was shocked on how high and baby sounding her voice was. "I have a wisp", frowned Kathryn.

The TV caught her attention and she used the remote to turn it on. She turned it to the news channel.

"..last nights explosion of the government laboratory has thought to have been caused by terrorist. Of those presumed dead is one Dr. Kathryn Holts, who according to authorities, was in the building when it exploded, her car was found…." said the newscaster on the TV. Kathryn's eye's started to water as she heard that they thought she was dead. The news program started to list more people who were killed in the explosion. Not wanting to hear or read anymore, Kathryn turned off the TV.

'Now what am I going to do, no one will believe me that I am Kathryn Holts. Even if they somehow did, all that would happen is that I would be put into some government lab for study or an insane asylum. And I will not be someone's lab rat. I got to take this one step at a time', reasoned Kathryn in her mind as she wiped the tears from her eye's. Just then the door to the room opened and a female doctor walked in.

"I see that your awake, how are you feeling, any pain", asked the doctor.

"I feew fine", answered Kathryn. "Okay, good. What's your name, mine is Jasmine", asked the doctor.

"Kathwyn", said Kathryn.

"Kathryn's a pretty name, do you have a last name", asked Jasmine.

'I can not give them my last name', thought Kathryn. "I don't wemembew it", Kathryn said after some thought.

"That's fine, you rest up and I'll be back later, okay", smiled Jasmine and giving a little wave goodbye. Kathryn felt embarrassed at being treated as a little girl.

Kathryn closed her eyes and started to dream. Flashes of images of the incident at the lab and her running through the woods kept going through her mind as she slept. A few hours later, the door opened again with Jasmine and another lady walking in. The noise caused little Kathryn to wake up.

"Kathryn, this is Tracey, she is from Social Services. She is going to ask a few questions, okay," explained Jasmine.

"Kathryn do you know where your parents are?" asked Tracey

'Great more questions, my real parents passed away two years ago. I'll have to say something' thought Kathryn.

"I don't know", answered Kathryn after some thought.

"How old are you, Kathryn?" asked Tracey.

"Five", answered Kathryn while holding up five fingers. 'That should be close to what my age is now and I'll have to act somewhat like a kid or they will think something is wrong', thought Kathryn as she held up her right hand.

"Do you know why you were in the woods last night?" asked Tracey.

'What I am going to say to that. I can not tell them that I was running from the lab. I'll keep up the act of not remembering', thought Kathryn.

"I don't wemembew anything wast night?" answered Kathryn with a little frown and watery eyes for effect.

"That's okay sweety, you were very helpful. I am going to talk to the nice doctor lady outside", said Tracey as she gave a little wave and headed out the door.

'They are probably going to put me in a foster home until they decide what to do. Until I can figure a way to return to my real age, I'll have to accept my position for now', said Kathryn to herself.

A few minutes later, Kathryn felt the need to pee. She almost fell off the hospital bed because she had misjudged the height of it.

"Evewything is so big", Kathryn said quietly as she walked to the bathroom in the far corner of the room.

She lifted up the hospital gown and pulled down the plain white panties the nurses had put on her. Kathryn had some trouble climbing onto the toilet and she was careful not to fall in as the toilet opening was much larger than she was used to. When she was finished and had wiped herself, she took some time to look at the changes below.

"It is going to be awhiwe befowe any hair is going to be down thewe", said Kathryn as she looked at her crotch. She poked at her belly a little as she saw that it was pushed out farther than normal for her.

After she had examined herself, she pulled up the panties and let down the gown, which did not cover much in the back. She washed her hands in the sink, which was set lower for children. Kathryn climbed back onto the large bed and pulled the covers over her.

For about an hour while Kathryn waited, she watched some TV and did some thinking about her situation. She had just turned off the TV when Jasmine, Tracey, and a man and woman walked in.

"Kathryn, this is Anna and Greg Harrison. They were the ones that found you in the woods passed out on the ground. They have agreed to be your foster parents. After they sign some paper work, they can take you home." explained Tracey while pointing to the man and woman beside her.

Kathryn looked at Anna and Greg and judged them to be around their late 20's. They looked a little nervous as if they were hoping that she would accept them as parents.

Bringing up her courage, Kathryn said "Hi".

"Hi, you look a lot better than you did when I found you in the woods", Anna said.

"We brought some clothes with us for you to wear", Greg said nudging Anna.

"I did not know your size, so they might be a little big on you", said Anna as she gave a plastic bag with clothes in it to Kathryn.

"Thank wou", replied Kathryn when she took the bag.

"Let's go sign the paper work while she gets dressed", mentioned Tracey as she gestured toward the door.

Anna and Greg left with Tracey while Jasmine stayed behind. Jasmine turned toward Kathryn and sat on the bed next to her. She then pulled out a stethoscope from under her coat.

"I need a look you over one last time before you go, this should be quick", said Jasmine as she placed the stethoscope on Kathryn's chest. "Take a big breath for me…….good……one more time…....excellent". Jasmine then removed the stethoscope.

Jasmine pulled out a small rubber hammer. "Okay, I need to test your reflexes". She then proceeded to tap both knee caps of Kathryn, her legs jumped each time. "Very good girl you are for staying still", smiled Jasmine who pulled out a wooden stick.

"Now can you open wide and say AHHHH for me", asked Jasmine. Kathryn nodded and opened her mouth.

"AHHH GGGHH HH", mouthed Kathryn as Jasmine placed the wooden stick on her tongue.

"Look's like one of you're other baby teeth might start to get loose soon. You might want to get prepared for a visit from the tooth fairy", smiled Jasmine as she took out the wooden stick.

Groaning in her head, 'It is going to take some getting used to being treated like the little girl I appear to be'.

"I need to ask you one more question Kathryn. Do you remember when your birthday is, and if so when is it? I need to write it down in our records," asked Jasmine.

"Yes, Apwil 20", answered Kathryn as she started to look at the clothes in the bag.

"That was two weeks ago, happy birthday Kathryn and thank you", smiled Jasmine as she wrote down the date on her clip board.

Kathryn just smiled and returned to look at the clothes in the bag.

"If you need any help getting dressed, just push the call button on the wall and I'll come help you," said Jasmine as she got up to leave the room.

Kathryn found a pair of white ankle socks, shorts, shoes and a pink shirt in the bag. They looked a little to childish for her taste, but felt like she had no other choice. The shorts were purple with flowers printed on the pockets. The pink shirt had a picture of Barbie on the front.

'At least the shoes are normal sneakers, and just sized for kids,' thought Kathryn with some relief.

Kathryn took off the hospital gown and placed it on the bed. She turned and looked at herself in the mirror on the wall. A short hairdo brunet kindergarten girl in only a white plain pair of panties stared back at her. Sighing, Kathryn proceeded to put on the clothes.

She pulled up the shorts and found them to be just on the loose side. Next she put on the pink shirt, which hung down past her shorts. Kathryn sat on the floor and pulled up each ankle sock which had some lace on the top of them. She smiled some when the shoes fitted her small feet perfectly. She did have some trouble tying her shoes because her fingers were so small and somewhat chunky with baby fat. When she was finished, she got up and looked in the mirror again.

'Yep, I look like any other pre-school girl who is wearing their slightly older sisters clothes', thought Kathryn as she could feel the shorts slipping down a little.

As Kathryn waited for the Harrison's to come back, she prepared herself mentally for the childish comments and treatment she would get from them and everyone else. She could not blame them because to them she looked like a small little girl instead of a 45 year old woman scientist. After a few minutes of waiting, the door to the room opened again. Tracey, Jasmine and the Harrison's walked in. It looked like Anna was holding something behind her back.

"Don't you look adorable in those clothes", smiled Anna as she looked at Kathryn.

"A wittle woose", replied Kathryn.

"Well we just need to get you some new clothes then", said Anna.

"Are you ready to go Kathryn?" asked Greg.

"Yes," answered Kathryn with a nod.

"Here I bought something for you since I heard your birthday was two weeks ago, I hope you like it", said Anna as she pulled out a stuffed white teddy bear from behind her back.

The teddy bear reminded Kathryn of the ones she had when she was a little girl the first time. Those memories brought a smile to her face as she hugged the bear. She found that her emotions were harder to hold back in her new child body.

"Thank wou vewy much", said Kathryn happily still hugging the bear tight against her chest.

"I'm glad you like him", said Anna with a loving look on her face.

"Everything is set and she can leave with you now", explains Jasmine.

"I'll be checking back with you in a few days to see how everything is going," said Tracey.

"Sure thing and thank you for the opportunity of letting us take care of her", thanked Anna as her eyes teared up just a little.

Kathryn just stood by silently holding onto her new bear as they talked. Anna turned back to Kathryn and offered her hand for her to grab. Reluctantly, Kathryn grabbed it and was led out of the room. Kathryn saw other children with their parents and in wheelchairs wondering the hallways of the children's ward of the hospital. She had trouble trying to keep up with Anna's walking because her legs were so short. Anna paused after a bit and bent down to Kathryn's level.

"I'm sorry for going to fast, do you want me to pick you up or slow down", asked Anna with a pleading look.

Groaning in her mind, Kathryn replied, "Pick me up". She just did not want to slow down their leaving. Kathryn lifted her arms for Anna to reach under and pick her up.

Joy crept across Anna's face as she picked up Kathryn. To Kathryn, it seemed that Anna had missed doing this in a long time.

'Does she have other children', thought Kathryn with some embarrassment of being carried. But after a bit, it did feel nice to be carried around. 'No wonder kids like this, Kinda of makes you feel loved and safe,' thought Kathryn as she laid her head on Anna's shoulders.

Kathryn saw Tracey and Jasmine wave to her as they left the front door to the hospital, heading to the parking lot. The rocking motion of being carried was relaxing her to the point of almost falling asleep. But before Kathryn could close her eyes, Anna stopped.

"Here we are, this is our car Kathryn", said Anna pointing to the silver Honda Accord.

Greg opened the car doors and Kathryn mentally sighed when she saw the car seat. She remembered about the new laws and was expecting this. Anna placed her in the car seat and buckled her up. Kathryn held her teddy bear in her lap.

"Are you comfortable Kathryn?" asked Anna as she sat in the front passenger seat.

"Yes, thank wou", answered Kathryn. The car seat was more comfortable than she expected it would be.

The car started up and they drove out of the parking lot. Kathryn could only see tops of buildings and telephone pole from her point of view.

"We live about 30 minutes from here", explained Greg.

"Is the temperature okay in here", asked Anna looking around to the back seat.

"Its fine", replied Kathryn, who was feeling somewhat overwhelmed from all the pampering.

Sitting in the car seat holding the teddy bear and Anna's kindness, brought back memories of Kathryn's own mother. Those memories reminded her that she misses her real mother a whole lot since she passed away with her father. Kathryn closed her eyes as a tear fell down her cheeks. She continued to think of her mother for the rest of the trip. Anna looked back and saw that Kathryn's eyes were closed and decided not to disturb her.

It was not long before Greg pulled up to their house. The Harrison's house was two stories and had a three car garage. The house was painted a light tan and the trim a dark brown.

"We're here Kathryn," said Anna as she turned her head back.

Kathryn opened her eyes and was reminded of the reality of where she was. She could feel the dry tear on her cheek and she wiped it with her arm. Anna opened the back door and started to unbuckle Kathryn from the car seat. After she was done, she lifted her out and onto the driveway.

"Home sweet home, I hope you like it here", said Anna with a smile.

It was almost noon and the sun was really bright. Kathryn had to squint her eyes some to see the house. From what Kathryn could see, the house was pretty large or it is just that she was just so small now. Anna walked with Kathryn to the front door while Greg locked up the car.

"Let's get you settled in and then we can have lunch and afterwards we can go get you some better fitting clothes", said Anna as she unlocked the front door.

Anna took Kathryn on a short tour of the lower floor. She saw the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Anna then took her up stairs to the bedrooms and Greg followed.

"This is going to be your room Kathryn", said Anna as she opened the door.

The room's décor was for a little girl about Kathryn's current age. It confused her some that the room was already decorated for a little girl, like they were excepting her or something. There were stuffed animals on a self next to the child sized bed. A doll house was near the closet and a child's desk by the window. Under the self was a girl's dresser with a mirror on top. The bed sheets had flowers on it and Disney posters were on the walls. Kathryn walked in and spotted a picture on the desk. It was a picture of a little girl about 4 or 5 years old with light brown hair. Her eyes were blue unlike Kathryn's own hazel color. If Kathryn did not know any better, they could be passed off as sisters.

"Who's this?" asked Kathryn pointing at the picture.

"That is my…my..…excuse me", said Anna as her eyes were tearing up and she ran down the stairs.

"Did I say something wrong?" asked Kathryn as her own eyes started to water at the site of Anna running away crying.

"No honey, sit down and I will explain," said Greg as me motioned Kathryn to sit on the bed.

"That picture is of our daughter Crystal, she died last year in a hit and run accident", explained Greg who was trying to hold his emotions back for Kathryn's sake. "Anna took it real hard and she misses Crystal a lot. She is still trying to get over the accident. That is why we were in the woods hiking. I was trying to get Anna away from the house to not think about it. That is when we found you laying there in the woods with blood on you. Anna's heart sank when she saw you and rushed you to the hospital so that the same thing that happened to Crystal would not happen to you. It made me happy to see Anna's face light up when she found out that you were okay and that is why we asked Tracey if we could be your foster parents if your real parents could not be found. You being here is filling a missing part in both me and Anna's lives," continued Greg now hugging Kathryn who was crying from the sad story.

'No wonder Anna treats me so nice, I remind her of her daughter', thought Kathryn as she tried to get hold of her emotions.

"Let's go see if Anna is okay", said Greg as he picked up Kathryn, who did not mind being carried this time.

They found Anna in the living room wiping her eyes with a tissue. Greg put Kathryn down next to Anna on the sofa.

"I'm sorwy if I made you cry", said Kathryn wiping her own tears with her arm.

"It's not your fault, sweetie. You just reminded me of Crystal. And please do not think you are replacing her, okay. I really wish she was here so you could be her sister. You see, after I had Crystal, I found out that I could not have another baby and when Crystal died it made me feel all alone. I really wanted a child to take care of and be a mother to. It is just that when I saw you all alone in the woods passed out; I did not want another mother to lose their child like I did. And when Tracey told us that she could not find your parents, I decided I could be your mother. I really want to take care of you Kathryn," said Anna as she hugged Kathryn.

"Thank wou for finding me and taking care of me", said Kathryn as she hugged Anna back.

"Enough of the sad talk okay. Let's have some lunch", said Anna as she picked up Kathryn and took her to the kitchen. Kathryn was starting to like being carried by them.

They all ate some sandwiches and Kathryn had milk to drink. They cleaned up the kitchen and Anna and Kathryn were preparing to go shopping for new clothes for her.

"We should be back in a couple of hours, see you soon", said Anna as she kissed Greg goodbye.

"Better not leave you out little one", said Greg as he bent down to kiss Kathryn on the cheek, who blushed at the treatment.

"Drive safely you two," said Greg as Anna and Kathryn walked out of the house.

Part 4

Anna drove to the K-Mart a few miles away. Kathryn knew that they will be picking out childish clothes for her and she prepared herself mentally for it. When they arrived Anna picked up Kathryn and carried her to the store. Kathryn liked being carried by Anna and relaxed into her arms. When they entered the store Anna put Kathryn down and held her hand as they walked to the children clothing area.

"Now stay close Kathryn, I do not want you getting lost", said Anna as she looked down at Kathryn.

"I will", smiled Kathryn back to Anna and walked closer to Anna.

Anna and Kathryn spent the next few hours picking out clothes and trying on outfits in the dressing room. After they had grabbed enough outfits for Kathryn for awhile, they loaded all they had into a cart. Anna lifted Kathryn and put her in the child's seat on the cart. Kathryn was still amazed on how big everything looked to her now as she tried to enjoy the ride in the cart to the cashier.

"What a cute daughter you have there", said the female cashier as she was ringing up the purchases and Kathryn blushed at the comment.

"Thank you but she is not mine, we are looking after her while they try to find her parents", replied Anna.

Anna and Kathryn headed back to their car and loaded up the bags into the trunk.

"We'll stop by McDonalds and pick up dinner", said Anna as they drove out of the parking lot.

When they ordered the food, Kathryn accepted the fact that Anna ordered a Happy Meal for her. The food smelled good to her and her stomach grumbled loudly.

"Sounds like someone is hungry", smiled Anna as she looked at the rearview mirror.

Kathryn just smiled back as she held her stomach. Greg helped unload all the bags when they got back to the house. Anna went to the kitchen with the food and started to

"Now go and wash your hands for dinner, Kathryn", said Greg as he placed the last bag down on the floor.

"'k", replied Kathryn who also felt the need to use the toilet as well.

Kathryn relieved herself after climbing up onto the toilet. After wiping, Kathryn found a stool by the sink and used it to reach the sink. She washed her hands and headed back to the kitchen. Anna lifted Kathryn onto the booster seat and gave her the Happy Meal. Anna and Greg talked about the day's events and the shopping trip to K-Mart. Kathryn sat and listened to her two guardians while she ate and was amazed how the small meal filled her up. She played with the toy that came with the meal for a bit until Anna and Greg finished their meals.

"Kathryn, care for ice cream?" asked Anna as she got up and gathered up the wrappings.

"ye'th," smiled Kathryn.

Anna scooped out chocolate ice cream for everyone. Kathryn was surprised on how sweet it tasted in her mouth.

'Maybe being a kid is not so bad', thought Kathryn as she ate from her bowel. "Let's go wash up and we'll watch a movie together", said Anna as she walked with Kathryn to the bathroom.

Anna helped Kathryn wash her hands and face from the ice cream. Kathryn did not realize she got ice cream on her face and giggled at the thought of it. They walked back to the living room and sat down on the sofa. Greg put in the Lion King DVD and pushed play. Kathryn leaned into Anna who had her hands draped over her shoulders. Kathryn never watched it before since she was in her 30's when it came out and was busy with her science to go watch it. She found herself enjoying the movie and did not realize she was starting to fall asleep on Anna's lap. Anna smiled and stroked Kathryn's head as she saw that Kathryn was falling asleep. When the movie ended, Anna picked up the sleeping Kathryn and carried her to the bathroom. Kathryn woke up when she found herself getting undressed by Anna.

"Time to take your bath before heading to bed, sweety", said Anna as she took Kathryn's clothes off.

Kathryn felt embarrassed as she found herself naked in front of Anna when she pulled down her panties. Anna started to fill the bathtub with water and checked the temperature regularly. Kathryn could tell that Anna really wanted to read to her and nodded her head. Anna picked up a book from the near by self and started to read it to Kathryn. About halfway through the book Kathryn fell asleep with a smile on her face. Anna bent over and kissed Kathryn on the forehead and turned off the light.

Kathryn spent the next two weeks enjoying the love Anna and Greg was giving her. She was letting herself get into the role of their little girl and forgot her troubles. Tracey came by and was pleased that Kathryn was doing well. Kathryn's love for her new guardians grew during this time. One day about a month since the explosion, Tracey came for a visit with some news. Kathryn listened from the hallway.

"Anna, Greg there has been no luck in finding Kathryn's parents. We think they abandoned her in the woods or died in the explosion." said Tracey sadly.

"That is horrible, are you sure there is no trace of her parents?", asked Anna hugging Greg for support.

"Sorry no, we tried every avenue in the search and no luck. I have looked into your request for the adoption of Kathryn if her parents could not be found. I have good news that your request has gone through and all that is need is for you to sign these papers.", explained Tracey.

"That's great, but it is sad that her real parents could not be found", said Anna as she picked up the papers.

"Before we sign, I think that Kathryn should be let know of it first.", said Greg as he looked over the adoption papers.

"Kathryn, please come into the kitchen, we have news about your parents", said Anna loudly.

Kathryn walked into the kitchen and saw the sad look in their faces. She knew that they would not find her parents, but tried to act the part of a little girl.

"Kathryn, I am sorry but I could not find your Mommy and daddy", said Tracey sadly.

"They gone?", said Kathryn with some tears, playing the part well.

"Yes I'm sorry. But I have some good news, Anna and Greg have requested to adopt you as their little girl and be part of their family.", said Tracey hugging Kathryn.

"Kathryn I will only sign it if you really want me to be you new Mommy. I know I am not your real mother but I promise I'll be the best mother I can", said Anna with a tears in her eyes.

Kathryn knew that Anna and Greg loved her and she grew to love them as well. She also knew that she knew of no way as of yet to return to her old self. Kathryn knew that she would have a happy childhood if she stayed with Anna and Greg. With tears also in her eyes, Kathryn walked over to Anna.

"I want wou to be my new Mommy", said Kathryn as she hugged Anna.

Anna, Greg and Kathryn hugged each other as Tracey smiled at the lovely scene. After a few minutes, they stopped hugging. Kathryn watched as her guardians signed the paperwork to become her new parents.

"I'll file this paperwork with the state as soon as I get back. Kathryn with this paperwork you are now Kathryn Harrison and the daughter of Anna and Greg", said Tracey as she was handed the papers from Anna.

"Mommy can wou tuck me in for my nap. I am sleepy", said Kathryn as she looked up at Anna.

"Sure thing. I am glad I am your Mommy", smiled Anna as she picked up Kathryn and carried her to her bedroom.

Greg walked Tracey to the door and then followed Anna to Kathryn's bedroom. He stood by the door as he watched Anna tuck Kathryn in.

"She really is a special little girl. She has filled the hole in our lives that Crystal left when she died", said Greg as he hugged his wife.

"I want her to have the happiest childhood I can. She deserves it", smiled Anna as she watched Kathryn sleep.

Kathryn listened to her new parents as they talked and was glad she was able to help them as they have helped her.

The next few days Kathryn, Anna and Greg got into the role as a new family. Kathryn smiled inwardly as every time she called Anna Mommy, she would glow with happiness. Then one day while Greg was gone at work, something happened that changed Kathryn's life even more. She was out helping her new mother take care of the garden in the backyard. Kathryn was wearing a pink sun dress with white sneakers. As she saw a withered flower, she imagined how it looked like when it was newer and fresh. Kathryn felt a tingle in her fingers and a small blue glow came from her index finger as she touched the flower. She watched is amazement as the flower grew greener and fresher. Soon the flower was back to the peak of its blooming.

'The time anomaly must be part of me', thought Kathryn as she watched the flower's transformation. Her scientific mind started to comprehend what had happened to the flower.

'I must have done it with my mind. I was thinking about how it looked like when it was fresh and then it grew younger when I touched it. I can control the temporal energy with my mind, how interesting. I must see what I can do, I might be able to make myself older", thought Kathryn.

In secret during the next few days, Kathryn tested out her new ability on the flowers in the garden when her new mother was not looking. She was able to make it older and younger at will. She grew excited at the thought of controlling aging. She found out that she had to touch the flower to change it and could not from a distance. After she had felt that she had tested the power enough, she was ready to try it on herself when she could be alone.

"Time for bed honey, tomorrow we are going to the zoo so you need your sleep", said Anna looking at the clock.

Anna helped Kathryn changed into her pajama's and tucked her in.

Kathryn waited until Anna left and climbed out of her bed and went to the alarm clock. She set it so she could wake up early so she had time to test her age power on herself. Kathryn heard the shower stopped and quickly ran over to her discarded pajamas and put them on. By the time she climbed back into her bed, the door opened and Anna stuck her head in.

"Kathryn, time to wake up.", said Anna standing in her robe.

Pretending to wake up, Kathryn sat up and looked at Anna.

Anna praised Kathryn as she tied her shoes while Anna watched, waiting to help if needed.

"You can play or watch TV while I get breakfast ready", said Anna when Kathryn was finished getting dressed.

As they walked downstairs to the kitchen, Kathryn thought about how her life is gong to be growing up with her powers and new parents.
